Great location
Fairfield Inn & Suites ReddingOut of the way enough to walk dogs, but close to Freeway. Sandwich shop within walking distance. Clean, great breakfast, reliable.
Very nice
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ogden an IHG HotelHotel is being remodeled. It was clean, quiet, well staffed. One of the best complimentary breakfasts we’ve had this trip. Plenty of grassy areas for Yuri, our 4 legged traveling companion.
Bad area
Red Roof Inn & Suites Omaha - Council BluffsNot a good section of town. Tiny rooms. Lots of dogs. Clientele really sketchy. Never had people in the next room yelling so loud and so frighteningly. Barking dogs, must have been left alone in room. Very dated. Even my dog was scared.
Don’t miss this
The Highlander HotelThis was an awesome experience! The hotel is very unique. We got in late, after 9, but were greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The bar was still open and serving food. Very special menu included lots of great choices. Our dog was welcomed with a treat and a good pet. Convenient to freeway access.
Unexpected excellence
La Quinta by Wyndham Rapid CityThe suite was marvelous. Extremely clean and very large. The hospital next door was not an issue at all. Very quiet night. It is attached to a water park, which I didn't realize; even though we had a room right by the park, it was never a problem. Nice staff.
Pass next time
Hilltop Inn by RiversageThey text to let you know you are expected and for any additional info. I answer verifying my dog, my request for ground floor, my late arrival. I arrive late, to find no dog expected and a top floor room. And they blame it on booking site. It wasn’t an acceptable enough room, location or service to overlook the original booking request. This is the first negative review I have ever posted.
Great Experience
Ruby River HotelThis is a very large hotel right next to Gonzaga University. A river walk goes the length of the hotel and beyond. They have the best enclosed dog park. The connected restaurant, the Osprey, had great food and service, and plenty of outdoor seating where dogs are allowed. We were seated away from other diners with pets. The room was excellent, and all staff were friendly to us and our dog. Highly recommend!
Not so great
Best Western Plus Hilltop InnNice on-site restaurant with patio that doesn’t allow pets. No special treatment of pet. Small grass potty area across very big paved parking lot. It was 110 when we checked in. Stay here only as last resort.
Newport, Oregon
Hallmark Resort NewportHallmark resort was wonderful. We requested and received a ground floor room that had a walkout patio. The beach was below us, but fully accessible via a sturdy staircase. The view from the room was breathtaking. The sunset was fully visible from the patio. The pet area was the best I’ve ever seen. A private path to a large grassy area with bags and disposal in the same area. We had room service breakfast that was timely and delicious! And most importantly, our dog was well attended to. A gift bag with water bottle, treats and a disc. A sheet for the bed and a great welcome at the desk. We will definitely be back!
Not very good
Best Western Anderson InnVery poor setting. No place to walk nor potty unless your dog is super easy. Linens are old, towels are small. Noisy. No ice, ice machine hasn’t worked in months. Very nice staff, however.
Convenient to Specialty Vet Services
Quality Inn & Suites Vancouver NorthWe booked room to keep appointment at Columbia River Vet specialty clinic in Vancouver. The motel was dated and simple, but clean and friendly. Hallways are interior. Floors are carpeted. The location is right off 205 highway for easy commute. Many fast food and coffee places in walking distance.
