Good value

Executive Inn and Suites

We had car trouble on our way home from vacation and were unable to find a pet-friendly AirBnB in the area. The staff was friendly and had no problem accomodating me and my disabled husband and our 4 dogs (2 active service dogs, a retired service dog, and a lap dog.)The gas station in front 9f the hotel was super convenient. I just wish there had been a better place to walk the dogs. The closest grass area to our room was where they fed feral cats and our dogs found them to be distracting. We have a cat and they wanted to play! Every staff member we interacted with seemed to be an animal lover and our room attendant was very sweet. Would definitely stay there again. The room was also very clean, they even shampooed the carpet prior to our arrival. They do need to change out the shower attachment in the handicap accessible, it is handheld and mounted with a suction cup but the mount doesn't adjust so the spray just shoots straight out. Upgrading to a better quality shower attachment would be worth the extra money.

Need to train staff on service animal guidelines

La Quinta by Wyndham Oceanfront Daytona Beach

I was traveling back to North Georgia from a funeral in Orlando with my husband, who suffered a severe brain injury in August, and decided to spend the night at the beach before returning. I booked a room on-line and indicated that we would be staying with two active service dog, a 13 year-old retired service dog, and a 10lb lap dog. After driving nearly 2 hours out of the way, we arrived after 9pm and when I went to check in, the desk clerk told me that only 3 "pets" were allowed in the room and he was cancelling my reservation. I tried to explained to him that service dogs are not legally considered "pets" under the ADA. He was quite rude, refusing to spell his name for me or give me any paperwork indicating why he was canceling my reservation. I called Wyndham and was told the hotel could do what they wanted as far as refusing "pets." I then called BringFido and the my canine concierge immediately called the hotel and made them reinstate my reservation. When I went back in to the office, the clerk continued to be rude, not even offering an apology.

Need to be trained on service animals

La Quinta by Wyndham Atlanta Alpharetta

I booked online with 2 service dogs, a retired service dog, and a 10lb lap dog. While I was inside the gas station, the desk clerk called and spoke to my husband, who suffered a TBI in August. He explained the dogs to her and was told we would be accommodated. When I checked in, the clerk told me that they only allowed 2 pets per room but that because 2 of the dogs were service animals, they would "make an exception this one time." As though she were doing me a favor for which I should be grateful. I explained to her that, according to the Department of Justice and the Americans with Disabilities Act, that service dogs were not considered "pets" but more like a wheelchair for someone with a spinal injury. She then got an attitude and was quite rude. This is the second time in as many days that I was given a hard time by a Wyndham hotel.
