Very dog friendly
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Athens AlabamaOutside entrance to the room, Parking right outside the room and ample clean and mowed grassy area for walking dogs. Quiet but convenient to the highway. It is a clean and safe motel. Lots of food delivery options for humans.

Courtyard a minefield of feces
Quality Inn & Suites University Areabased on the reviews I thought I would like this place. Like most people traveling with a pet I look for the convenience of an outside entrance and a grassy area and don’t care much about the quality of the room. The room was not very nice (dirty, holes in the wall) and the bed was absolutely awful. The courtyard rooms which are the pet friendly rooms would be very convenient for a dog but guests obviously just let their dogs run out and don’t clean up after them. The motel does not provide a trashcan or poop bags. In addition to dog feces there was a lot of trash in the courtyard. I didn’t feel comfortable letting my dog go there and walked her near the parking area which was quite a bit cleaner. It’s in a pretty bad area and the other guests were extremely noisy and disrespectful. The staff was friendly and the motel lobby was not bad.

Clean, quiet and room to walk the dogs
Days Inn by Wyndham SpartanburgI was pleasantly surprised. The building is older and has a nice vibe. The motel is on a dead end road and the traffic noise is minimal. The grass area is well maintained and you can safely walk your dog on the street. The room is clean and the lounge chair has a dog blanket. There’s a good taco restaurant with carry out that you can walk to the back way with your dog.
