This is the oldest gay bar in the U.S. It’s fun to sit on the patio and talk to tourists, but the inside is disgusting. They don’t have locks on the bathrooms, presumably so people can’t hook up or pass out inside. In the upstairs bathroom, there’s a clear glass wall where you can see men peeing and they can see you trying to use the bathroom. Yuck.

We came to NOLA on a hot day and we stopped by because this app guided us to it and we are very glad it did. The bartender was so happy to see our dog and made her feel very welcome.

Nice place to bring your dog. My husband and I went there for some drinks and it was a cool place with cheap drinks. It is a gay bar so make sure that the people you bring are gay friendly or can take a compliment from one.

Cafe' Lafitte in Exile is not a restuarant it is the oldest gay bar in America. It is very pet friendly, the highlight for your dog is to join the Krewe of Barkus parade during Mardi Gras. It is a parade just for dogs that was started by the proprietor. Dress your dog in a costume (or not) and join the parade which begins at Armstrong park and travels by several dog friendly establishments. On that day it seems as everyone in the city brings their dog to the French Quarter to either join the parade or view it. Cafe' Lafitte in Exile is dog friendly year round, so visit with your best friend anytime!
