Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to The Bahamas with your pet:
- Pets traveling to The Bahamas require an import permit from the Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Services Unit (attached). Applications along with a $44 per permit processing fee plus $11 per subsequent permit for the same animal (paid by international money order only) must be made in writing to the Director of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture, Darville's Complex, Gladstone & Munnings Road, Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas.
- Pets must be six months of age, or older.
- Pets must be vaccinated against rabies more than one month and less than ten months before travel For the three-year vaccine, more than one month and less than 34 months prior to importation into The Bahamas.
- Pets must have a Veterinary Health Certificate presented within 48 hours of arrival in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to a licensed veterinarian for an examination.
- The permit is valid for 1 entry and must be used within 1 year from the date of issue.
Quarantine Information
Pets being transported to Bahamas are not required to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above.
