Need More PCB Dog Beaches
Rebecca Leigh in Montgomery
Great place and very clean. however I would love to take my dog down to the West End of the beach away from the crowds!

Dogs like the beach too!

I took my dog to the dog beach a couple of times. I'm glad Panama City Beach has this area, but it is just "OK" dogs have to be on a leash, which is fine, but I believe dogs should be able to run as long as they are trained well (which mine is not) Some dogs are not as dog friendly as others, but owners are very good about bringing dogs who are not agressive towards people or other dogs. The city provides clean-up bags and even a special recepticle for the bags to go in that is separate from the regular trash. The dogs enjoy their time at the beach with their human families. The only thing I can say to the negative side is that the area is not that big. I also think their should be other areas of beach in Panama City so some would not have to go all the way to Pier Park. Panama City has a lot of beach, so why not give us a little more?

We need more available areas

I live on the east end of PCB and I have to drive ten plus miles to be able to carry my well behaved pet to the beach with me. I think this is absurd. I am a tax payer here in Bay County so why can't we have just a small area on the east end of the beach for enjoying our pets. Oh yeah, it might make someone angry. Who the heck cares? If you don't like it LEAVE!!!! There are many miles of beach that doesn't allow pets go to one of those areas (stupid). However, it makes me ANGRY that I can't even have a half mile raduis for me and my small well-behaved pet to use. Hum, if they are going to cry (and probably don't even live here) let them find another place on the many miles of shore line that pets are not allowed on. All I am asking is for a place closer to my home on the east end of the beach, so that, I can go out and walk my pet without fear of the $500 fine. Is that to awful much for a year round tax payer to ask? Common sense where did you go?
