Pet Friendly Winslow State Park
Winslow State Park Bring Fido to the dog-friendly Winslow State Park, located on the northwest slope of Mt. Kearsarge in Wilmot, NH. Stop for a picnic with your pooch on the 1,820-foot plateau with outstanding views of the White Mountains to the north and central Vermont peaks. You'll also be able to get up close and personal with the nearby Mt. Sunapee, Ragged Mountain and Pleasant Lake. Dogs are welcome on the one-mile foot trail that leads from the picnic area to the summit of Mt. Kearsarge. There are other trails available too. Northern Rail Trail The Northern Rail Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Canaan! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Northern Rail Trail.
