Mark your calendars for Southington Bark for life! September 27th, 2014 9AM-12PM Admission: $20 for first dog, $10 for each add'l Benefiting: American Cancer Society Join us on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at the Southington Drive-In located at 935 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike for the American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life. Dog lovers from all over the state will gather to honor the caregiving qualities of their canine friends in a walkathon. Since dogs are not permitted at Relay For Life events, Bark For Life gives those who view their dogs as support systems a chance to raise money for the fight against cancer. Registration is $20 for the first dog and $10 for any additional dog you may want to bring with you with a commitment to raise funds for the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. Registration begins at 9AM and the opening/ welcome ceremony begins at 9:30AM. This year, one of our biggest events will be the DOG PAGEANT where we will crown a KING, QUEEN, PRINCE, & PRINCESS! Pageant entry is FREE to all registered Bark For Life participants. It will be M.C.'d by local Southington pageant titleholders and will include Professional Judges! Also, this year we will be having Police K-9 & special obedience demos, vendors, Prize Drawings and a costume walk! Please take the time and come out for a great cause! Individual walkers and teams are both welcome to this event where there will be fun activities for dogs and their owners alike. Prizes will be given to the top fundraising dogs, including a Golden Paw Award. At this event, the American Cancer Society asks that all dogs are on a leash at all times and dog owners/participants are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
