    We had a good time!

Some of the reviews here make some valid points but some comments are a bit mean and stupid in my opinion. It was The First Doggy Fest -- it deserves a break! The organizers do need to work some things out. The biggest problem was not properly advertising the entry fee. It made me feel weird too, but I inquired and found that proceeds did go to charity. The organization could have been better, more food trucks, more booths, a bounce house or something for the children -- hopefully 2016 will be bigger and better. The vendors were fine!! Most of them were animal rescues!!! The most important things were that the two food trucks were good, the fashion show was cute, the park was nice to explore, lots of dogs, and my dog really, really liked it. She LOVED the race track, wow! She didn't want to leave. We stayed through an afternoon rain shower with many other chill people and dogs and when the rain stopped we continued playing in the park. Good vibes. To S. Lynn in Sunrise, when you go to public spaces with your dog, please bring poop bags (and water/travel bowl if you can't deal. We got a bottle of water from the vendors). I go to LOTS of dog events in Miami-Dade/Broward County Parks and not all of them have poop bags and water stations ready and waiting for you. It's YOUR responsibility to care for and clean up after your dog.

WOW I am so happy my dog Masha finally has a place to play in Miami. We got inside and there were cute activities for the doggys, an obstacle course, a fashion show, as well as food trucks and other vendors. Masha had a great time walking around and getting to know other pets we stayed for a while admiring the event as well as the location and what a beautiful day it was. For it being the first year i think the event went well. Hope to see you guys next year! Doggy Fest 2016!

    Concern

    Good Evening,

I'm writing you this e-mail due to the fact that today I attended your First Annual Doggy Fest in Bay Front Park I really enjoyed the festival until it came to my attention that one of your vendors Pet Limo Animal Services staff were using drugs on the events premises. As I recalled this was a family event I was very disappointed with this having to intrude a family-friendly environment. I hope this comes to your attention and action will be taken and it will come to your Vendors Supervisor's attention about what their employees do on duty while working. Thank You for taking the time to read this as a father this concerned me as my family was at the event.
    Thank You,
    Xavier

    Doggy Fest Miami

I am always up for anything that is free. Therefore, when I saw that they were having the first annual Dog Fest in Miami, I was ready to get the day started. I rushed the husband out of bed; washed the dog; dressed the dog in his latest fashion; and out the door, we went.

Getting down to Bay Front Park in itself is a huge chore. Parking was easier than I thought, but there was a mandatory fee of $7 for two hours. Therefore, if you don’t plan to stay very long, it is a waste.

We crossed the street to the Fest and to my dismay, it was NOT free. In fact, it was $10 a person. I was really pissed. This is false advertisement. Their explanation is that it was Free for the dogs. That is just the most stupid thing I have heard in a while. Of course, it’s free for the dogs. When was the last time you saw a dog with a bankcard?

Well, we were there and we had already paid the $7 for the parking. Therefore, I sucked it up and paid the entry fee. The fact that it was a fantastic day out helped a great deal Baloo was smash hit with everyone there. Everyone that saw him wanted to pet him and for the most part, he was into it.

There was a fashion show/contest, a place, and an obstacle course that was excessively small for a Great Dane. For $20, there was nothing at the event that justified that price.

There were maybe, ten booths and a few of them had nothing to do with animals. I don’t know anyone there would want to buy a dress or one of those tiny cars.
There was supposed to be stations where the dogs could get water. All I saw were a few bowls with drool in them. Baloo would never drink from those.
There was absolutely no facilities for humans and only a few food trucks. They didn’t have any plastic poop bags available. Therefore, when Baloo left his opinion it was time to leave. For $20, plus the $7 to park, Miami can clean up my dog’s crap!
