5K Race for the Rescues

Description
The event is a road race that will begin and end at the McLean Fire Station at 2 Stevens Road. Walkers as well as leashed dogs are also welcome to participate.
Pre-registration is $20 per racer for those who register at active.com by April 20, and each early entrant is guaranteed a T-shirt. Registrations that come in after that date or on the day of the race are $25, with T-shirts available while supplies last. An awards ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the race.
New this year will be a dog contest for the "Ugliest and Cutest Dogs." The contest will begin at 9 a.m. A panel of judges will be awarding top prizes to both the cutest dog and the adorably ugliest dog. Registration is $1 per dog, with proceeds to benefit the McLean Fire Department, which helps organize the 5K race. To register your dog, please email mcleanhappenin@gmail.com.
The ever-popular community tug of war will be held at 11:30 a.m. Registration is $25 for a five-person team. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and must also sign a waiver to participate. The winning team will receive a $75 prize and bragging rights that are priceless.
For those who love to eat, there will be a meatball eating contest at 3:30 p.m. The grand prize for the winner is $50, with a $30 prize for second place and $20 for third. Entry fee is $15 per person, but the contest is limited to 20 contestants, so first-come, first-served.
