    Dogtober Fest

    Mark your calendars for Dogtober Fest! This dog friendly event will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on October 20, 2024 at Kemper Outdoor Education Center in Blue Springs, MO, US. Admission is free with donation of dry or canned dog food to benefit local animal shelters. Visit Website

    Description

    Bring Fido to this huge fall festival that attracts dogs and dog owners from all over the area. You can explore more than 75 retail and informational booths, featuring everything from pet photos and pet supplies to pet sitters and rescue. There will also be contests like Best Trick, Best Kisser, Best Tail-wagger, Best Biscuit Eater, Dog/Owner Look-alikes, and Best Halloween Costume. In addition, there will be fun activities, including Gunny Sack Races, Bobbing for Biscuits, Musical Discs, and more.

      Fun, relaxing event

      We took our dog to Dogtoberfest for the first time this year. It’s a very laid back event with many local dog related rescue groups, local pet supply stores, small business owners, and charitable organizations pertaining to things that are dog-related (training low-income or jobless people to become groomers, for instance). There were plenty of fun activities for pets, sketch artists, and letting your pet make its own art pieceI wouldn’t plan a trip to the area if this is your only activity, but for local pet owners and people within driving distance, it’s definitely a fun thing to do with your furry kid.
