Surfing Lessons for Dogs

If you've ever wanted to teach your dog how to surf, now's your chance. The Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego is offering a "SU'RUFF CAMP" package now through December 30.

It includes one night's accomodation at the (very nice) hotel, a one hour surf lesson for your dog with Coronado Surfing Academy, a Surf & turf room service meal for your pet, and even a pair of souvenir board shorts.

They also hold the National Dog Surf Championships every June. Maybe we'll be competing next year. Surf's up, dude!

Surfing cost?

Hey - surfing sounds awesome! Do you know how much it costs? Will they let you rent boards so you can practice later after the training session? Thanks!

what size dogs do you offer lessons for?

That's hilarious and pretty unique ...

I'll have to pay a quick visit to youtube and see some videos of surfing dogs.
Quick question though. Are there restrictions on the size dogs you'll teach? Do different size dogs get different size surf boards? I assume a Dane or a Lab might go on a pretty big surf board but I can't imagine a chihuahua or a dachshund on a very big board. I'd be scared they would just get tossed around by the waves :(
