Taking a Beagle on a cruise.

I am gonna go to meet my parents in Boston next year. I will be taking my dog along. We have been planning for a small ship cruise from Dc to Montreal. My parents badly want to go for it. I will be taking my dog to Boston. I am thinking of taking him for the cruise. Will it become an issue?
He is quite okay while travelling in the car. He has also been in a speed boat once. I am wondering if he will be okay on the ship. It is a 15-days long cruise. Will it be too much for my dog?
