Two Paws Up

The Westerner - Extended Stay

For the price this is hands down the best quality pet friendly place in town. Other hotels in the area allow pets but charge $100 pet fees. I was so surprised by the quality and size of my room I thought the hotel had upgraded me for free or had made a mistake. The rooms are modern, and spacious. Breakfast is free in the morning, there is a pool, mini golf, corn hole and what looked like tennis or pickle ball courts. If I ever visit again I would stay here with or w/o my dog!

Friendly Helpful Staff

Kahoots Alpine

I’ve never brought my dog however leashed pets are allowed inside. Some of the most friendly staff you’ll find! They always ask if I need anything or have any questions. Super helpful and knowledgeable. Great return policy too! Love the variety of treats, and dog supplies available in store.

5 for doggy Service

MacDuff's Public House

Brought our dog his own MacDuff engraved drinking dish. Dogs allowed outside. They will also cook your catch 3 different ways if you go fishing with Tahoe Sports fishing and bring it to them.

Awesome Food

McP's Taphouse

Amazing food, highly recommend the Shepherds pie. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor patio seating area. The outdoor patio tables have propane fires in the center for the colder months.

Phenomenal Experience!

Tahoe Sport Fishing

Cannot say enough about this experience! We called ahead and let them know we were bringing our dog (90lb German Shepherd mix). Our boat captain Matt gave us a big bucket of fresh water for our guy, even though we brought his own water. Wouldn’t recommend for vocal (barking prone) or nervous dogs prone to jumping. Keep in mind unless you book the private experience there are other guests paying for and trying to enjoy a quiet time fishing on the lake. You will be completely responsible for your pup. Be sure they stay out of the way from other guests fishing, and do not chase the fish once they are hauled aboard. If your dog consumes raw fish you are legally responsible. Although our boy was nervous on the ride out and back in he was completely at ease once the boat settled. Keep in mind your doggie will also be exposed to sun out on the lake for 4hrs straight, so I wouldn’t advise this experience on the hotter days. We went in May, and had a complete blast! Can not recommend enough!
