BEAUTIFUL Beach!
Paws & Play Dog ParkWe’ve come here the last two summers and we plan to come back every year! The beach is beautiful! The water is so clear, the park workers are so nice, and our dogs have a blast! There are a decent amount of small fish that wash up - some dead - so heads up on that but it doesn’t take away from the beauty and experience!

Cute, Small Farmer’s Market
Hilldale Farmers' MarketI love that this farmer’s market is dog friendly! (I wish the one downtown Madison was too!) The vendors are always friendly and we have fun when we go, but I do wish it was a little bigger! (Took one paw away simply because it’s not a very big market - but it is extremely pet friendly!)

LOVE LOVE LOVE Hilldale!!
Hilldale Shopping CenterWe have been going to Hilldale for years (even before we adopted our dogs!) and I’ve always loved it. But it’s even better with pups! So many stores are pet friendly (look for the little blue dog window sticker - stores with those stickers in the window allow dogs!) Every time we go, our dogs get treats from workers! There’s some fun activities going on and their Christmas decorations are stunning!

Decent Hotel, AMAZING Location
The Inn on Maritime Bay Ascend Hotel CollectionWe stayed at this hotel for the sole reason of being on the water! The views, local businesses, and area were amazing. We walked our dogs to the lighthouse every night we stayed. I wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel itself is pretty decent. There’s definitely some updates that could be made and the elevator was acting up while we were there. The breakfast wasn’t anything amazing but I love that it was all individually wrapped items! That was a great idea with the pandemic! Our room was actually very clean and the bedding looked newer than some of the website photos showed. The staff was always very friendly to us and greeted the dogs! If you’re looking for a more updated/fancy hotel then maybe check out other places but you’re not going to find a better location than this one! Bonus points for the fenced in dog park nearby that’s on the water!

Rescued With Love
Brown Paws RescueI have now adopted two dogs from Brown Paws and I can say both experiences were amazing! Our first dog was a puppy that we fell in love with when we first saw her photo on Facebook. Our second dog from them is a senior dog that we were lucky enough to foster ourselves! Both adoptions were exciting and informative. The rescue is completely volunteer based which each volunteer treating the dogs like their own. If you’re looking for a local rescue that does everything they can for their animals then consider adopting from Brown Paws! They also create such great events for alumni to attend. They love getting updates on the dogs and provide a great support system!
