Great park, spoiled by some bad owners
Bruce PitI took my son's Labradoodle here for several years, and it was great. Large area with many trails to choose from. This year we took our new little cockapoo there and she enjoyed it at first. However on her 2nd trip she was attacked and rolled over by a gang of 3 larger dogs. She was extremely frightened and ran crying back to the parking lot. One of the owners said " Sorry he thought it was his chew toy"
She is still frightened of bigger dogs and we haven't been back since. It is a great park but spoiled by some owners who don't control their dogs.
Breakfast good, check-in not dog friendly
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham MonctonThis hotel is unusual because every second room at the back has a door that opens onto the parking lot which would make it easier to take the dog to the bathroom. When we checked in they assigned us a room with a door that opened onto an interior corridor. When we realized this we asked to change rooms but the check-in staff refused.
Individual Cabins
Motel au Fleuve d'ArgentThis place is U shaped, with a centre motel section with a row of individual cabins. We had one of the cabins which was very clean and had a little kitchen if we had wanted to cook our own meals. Not being attached to your neighbor meant that an odd bark or two doesn't bother anybody. There is also a nice porch with chairs overlooking a big grassy area in the center of the U, which has a view of the St Lawrence River. It is not cheap, but we would stay there again but try to allow more time to enjoy the place.
