Uncaring staff

The Westin Sacramento

Pros: Put us in a first floor room so that we could walk out our patio door and have access to the pet area.

Cons: Pet area wasn't well maintained, having standing water attracted mosquitos and there was also days old poop not cleaned up. It was advertised that there would be a welcome package of treats, a dog bed, and water bowl. None of this was provided, and I should definitely not need to ask. No dog beds were even available at the hotel as advertised so I ended up having to make my own out of pillows and towels. Room service sent the most creepiest guy around who wouldn't even look at my dog let alone greet him. If you know you have a guest with a pet at least send someone comfortable around dogs to deliver the food.

Nobody cleaned the room and no explanation was offered. I don't leave a mess either, I pick up and make things easy for the cleaners. Room service food was so-so, I expected more from a Scott's. The hotel waterfront view was blocked off and under construction. This is somewhat shown on the website as certain things being under construction. But this is major construction, more notice should be given when booking. For the price point and location (not near anything in Sac), this hotel is subpar to say the least.
