Fun place - nice room
Wigwam MotelThe Wigwam is a slice of route 66 history but it’s also a great place to spend a night with a pet. The owners upgraded us to a room with the couch and Ruby enjoyed having a space all to herself. The room was super comfortable, if a little old-fashioned (including a shower that’s only at chest height), but that’s part of the historic charm! The old school burger joint right across the street was a bonus.
Felt like a luxury hotel
Holiday Inn Express Rawlins an IHG HotelAfter a long cross-country trip, which included stays at older and simpler hotels, this was like a top-of-the-line experience. The room was modern and comfortable, and had every amenity you could expect at a quality business hotel. The breakfast was delicious and made for a good start to an early morning on the road. Slightly more expensive than other pet-friendly options in town, but worth every penny.
Older building but clean and comfortable!
Surestay Hotel by Best Western LovelockYou can tell that this is an older motel, but the room was perfect and fully stocked for a good night’s sleep and a quick getaway in the morning. The owners were really nice at check in and obviously take great pride in this place and it shows!
Terrific value for the price
Super 8 by Wyndham Columbus WestClean, comfortable room with all the basics - fridge, coffee maker and toiletries. Far better than the star rating or the price point would have suggested. Would definitely stay here again!
Clean but bare bones
Motel 6-Avoca IAPro: Room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Con: Zero toiletries in the room beyond a bar of soap and nothing like a fridge or a coffee maker - also, the hotel is right across the street from a truck stop so there is quite a lot of traffic noise all night. Bottom line: this is fine for a bare-bones motel, but it is a bare-bones motel.
