Decent, but overpriced
Motel 6 Moriarty NMMy dog and I drive till we're tired, then pull off and see what's available. Booking night-of at 4am, the Motel 6 was our only option. Apparently, Moriarty isn't a 24-hour kind of town. Live and learn! Heading east on I-40, we know not to stop in Albuquerque, so Moriarty is the next best place. The property is RIGHT NEXT to I-40, so on/off access couldn't be any better. Interior hallways to access rooms, so it feels safer than other Motel 6s. The room was clean and comfortable, although a little outdated and musty. I paid $125 for a Monday night, which feels overpriced for services rendered.
Old but decent
Travelodge by Wyndham MemphisThe room is very large and the space was accommodating. It's old and shoddy, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep before moving in to the next destination, it suits its purpose. Wifi doesn't work, though. The motel seems to be family run, and they are very kind and polite. I paid $100 for a last minute walk-in booking on a Tuesday night.
Safe and welcoming
Best Western Plus Bowling GreenClose proximity to the interstate, clustered around several reputable hotel brands. Rooms were clean and well kept, but I didn't bring a white glove and black light to properly inspect (haha). The dog liked it and so did I.
Lush accommodations
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbus - Grove CityThis hotel appears very clean and well maintained. I saved about $20 by booking online rather than in-person in the lobby. Night staff is professional and pleasant. The parking lot is well lit. The grassy area to walk your dog is not well lit and rather small, but the hotel across the street has a nice space if you're into trespassing. Will happily sit and stay again.
