Very Dog Friendly
Northside 29 RestaurantMy partner and I visited Northside 29 with our dog Bubba Gump after a night camping in Shenandoah. The patio was welcoming for us and our dog, and they even offered Bubba a dog bowl full of ice water on a hot day. Our food took a while to come out but was delicious once we were served. Based on my experience I would recommend this place if you are looking for good food and friendly faces - however, if you're in a rush consider exploring other options. There is limited shade on the patio, so I would avoid bringing four-legged friends there on hot days.
Plenty of Space and Free Pup Cups
Carousel Frozen TreatsCarousel is a great place for both dogs and humans. They have about 15 flavors of soft serve ice cream - I had banana topped with Oreo (major yum!) as well as many other options including hot food. There is a good amount of space to spread out. My dog is a bit shy around people and kids so we found a table closer to the road which was perfect for us.
Loved the Variety
Cowles Bog TrailMy partner Jacob and I came here with our dog for a nice long walk on a mild winter day. We saw some others hiking, but the trails were not crowded at all and the other dog we met on the trail was gratefully leashed. There's a nice variety of habitat here - the trail begins with a long bog bridge and loops around to the ocean. Signage was clear and paths were well-maintained. Definitely one of the best NWI hikes I've done.
Incredibly Helpful Team
Devil Wind BrewingLast month, my partner and I were driving cross-country on Christmas Eve in sub-zero temperatures. We knew our boy Bubba needed some out of car time and by pure luck we found this brewery open. Bubba was welcomed indoors by another pup who belonged to a staff member there; service was prompt and prices were reasonable. I highly recommend you stop by this place; I know I certainly will again when my travels take me near Xenia!
