Lovely outdoor tables
Rockaway River BarnRRB is one of our favorite places with or without the pup! We love the Spicy Chicken Quesadilla, the Asian Dumplings and the Garlic Shrimp Appetizers. Also the Reuben and the Salmon Croissant are excellent, if you can afford the calories!

Nice hike with the dog!
Liffy Island TrailWe parked on Prospect Point Road and took the shorter but wilder trail in. It's just about a mile to the boardwalk that connects the mainland to Liffy Island, then there are a lot of trails on the island, some of them ending at the water. Our dog met a few other pups on the trail and got to jump in the water three times, so it was a great day for him. My husband and I both hit our daily minimum 10,000 steps in two hours, so we were ready to hit one of the great dog-friendly restaurants nearby for lunch!

Great Music, firepits, and drinks!
J&S RoadhouseThe owners must have a good ear because the bands are always really great. Food is basic but good (and cheap). They will bring food to the table but I think during music nights you have to go up and get your drinks. There are firepits so that chilly evenings are no problem. We were one of three couples with a dog and the staff was very accomodating.
