Reliable, comfortable
La Quinta by Wyndham BismarckWelcoming reception staff, well-maintained warm breakfast, clean room with standard amenities, comfortable beds. As a dog owner, my only issue is the lack of green space for potty breaks or a quick game of fetch. We usually drive 5 min down to the Capitol building lawn to give the dog a good run after a long day of driving. We've heard there's a dog park nearby as well but neither are within a convenient 10-min walk of the hotel.
Basic, dog-friendly hotel
Sleep Inn & Suites Bismarck I-94Room and property were clean but everything showed a lack of maintenance and attention. I never saw anyone at the front desk, several amenities didn't work and the breakfast setup had empty containers.
Room: the sink faucets turned only with great effort and noise. The fridge was not cold (I think the coils needed to be defrosted) and had no freezer. Frustrating as we were traveling with a cooler and could have used it. The plugs in the lamp didn't work; had to unplug the lamp to charge phones. The pool was out of service.
Breakfast: coffee machine out of service (they set up a Keurig but it needed water and the k-cups were nowhere to be seen). The bacon and sausage server was empty, the scrambled eggs/ bacon server was lukewarm and had 2 anemic strips of bacon at 8 am. Decent field in the back for the dog, which was helpful. And the location is very convenient. We'll stay at La Quinta next time; have had great luck with them for family + dog trips across ND.
