Wonderful place for a hike.

We visited Henry Cowell Redwood State Park and it was beautiful. We took our Berner puppy on the Piperline Trail. We were disapointed that it it wasn't a trail surrounding the park, allowing a loop back to the parking lot. I hope they open up more trails for dogs on leashes as I felt it was a bit restrictive. Overall, a beautiful park. I would have liked to explore more trails but it only has two trails for dogs.

Great place for dogs.

We took Daisy to Seabright State Beach and she enjoyed her beach experience. There wasn't too many dogs but she loved the birds. She is still afraid of the water and the waves but hopefully down the road she will enjoy the ocean.

Great place.

We brought Daisy to Cannery Row but it was later in the evening so there wasn't alot of people. She was very friendly with people and we didn't experience any issues.

Beautiful Beach for dogs.

We took our Berner puppy to the beach and it was so much fun. It is a beautiful beach overlooking Monterey. We did see three dead sea lions on the beach and I would be very careful with your dogs around these dead animals. Apparently in the Bay Area, they are seeing sick sea lions infected with a bacterial diease of leptospirosis that is very deadly to dogs unless they are vaccined. I hope the infection is not in Monterey area.

Outstanding!!!!

We took our Berner puppy, Daisy, whalewatching this week in Monterey, and it was an incredible experience. As a puppy, she is pretty hesitate trying new activities but she handled the boat ride, the staff and the people on the boat very well. She adores people. There was another small poodle on the book but it was not a problem. The staff was wonderful and I must say it was the best whalewatching trip we have ever taken, even beating Maui's whalewatching. We saw a large pod of common dolphins, a large group of sea lions and whales feeding off small fish (archovies?). The mom whale and baby whale was right in the middle of the sea lions feeding and playing and surrounded our boat. There was at least 6 or 8 other whales arounds the area feeding. It was incredible. I will definitely take this boat again with Daisy.

Good food.

The restaurant had outside tables so we could bring Daisy for lunch. The food was very good. They even had a dog menu which was great. Definitely a great place to go to.

Excellent Food

We loved this restaurant. The food was great and the view was outstanding. We brought Daisy with us for dinner and she was very comfortable resting while we were eating. The staff brought out a water bowl for her. Our dog is a Berner puppy who cannot walk stairs. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor and unknowingly, we carried Daisy up the stairs. However, there is an elevator which we should've asked about. No need to walk or carry your dog up the stairs. They advertise heating units outside on the patio. I only saw one table with a heating lamp. It does get a little cool in the evening on the patio so bring a jacket. We would recommend this restaurant overall. The service was wonderful and the food was great.

Nice Hotel

This hotel was beautiful. However, I have traveled with dogs and it really doesn't have a pet area for dogs. There is no grass and it is apparent that hotel guest do not pick up their dog waste since there is no apparent area for a pet area. We were on a 6th floor and it was a bit of a inconvenience as we had a puppy who was very hesitate to elevators but she became more comfortable. We were near the pool but we could not bring her into the pool area to use the pool. There was hardly any people at the hotel nor using the pool. They need to update their menu as there is no buffet on the weekend. However, overall, the hotel was was comfortable, the pillows outstanding. If you are on the 4th floor, you don't need to use the elevator. I would go to the hotel again but definitely stay on the 4th floor.

Nice Hotel

We enjoyed our visit to this hotel. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We stayed in a room with two queens with a patio. It was comfortable but not overall spacious. They have only one end table between the beds which was inconvenience as it was the main area we used for our electronics. There is no other furniture in the room outside of the desk and cabinet. It has a small mini refrigerator and a very old microwave in the cabinet.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights on the first floor. This hotel has a lots of stairs and if you dog does not like stairs, the hotel can be a bit of an inconvenience for you. They did not advertise where the pet areas are on the map so you had to walk around the hotel in order to find the pet areas. They have two sets of elevators to/from the underground parking garage which is great which you can use to access one of the back pet areas, but again, you must take the stairs at certain points. Daisy, our puppy, does not take stairs yet and at times we had to carry her up and down the stairs (she is 55 lbs).

The hotel has two pets areas with bark, with no grass. There is a grassy area near the pool area but it is not in the pet area but apparently lots of guest use that area as there was a lot of dog waste. It was the one area we could take Daisy as she is only trained to use grass. You must keep your dog on leash at all time as both pet areas are not enclosed. Each area has a waste bag dispensers and garbage cans.

They have a restaurant on site that serves breakfast and dinner. We did not use the service as they had no outdoor seating for guests with dogs. Dogs are not allowed to be unattended in the rooms, so we could not use the restaurant or pool area. However, Monterey is a great area for pet friendly restaurants with great food so we had lots of other options outside of the hotel. The hotel overall very nice and quiet with a patio. The pool and hot tub were awesome which we were able to use separately since we could not bring Daisy to the pool area. Overall the staff was very nice. We would probably come back to the hotel and stay on the first floor again.
