Unit in need of maintenance
Upper Canyon Inn & CabinsFor the money we paid, this was an adequate stay. However, there are some simple maintenance issues that could be taken care of. Frayed carpet in one of the bedrooms, with stains on the carpet. A bathroom fan that was broken. Tattered leather sofa in the living room. There was a lot of traffic noise outside, too, which nothing can be done about. Overall, a unit in need of some repair. Someone changed our booking, which was for a certain cabin, but when we got there, we were assigned another cabin. It was supposed to be an identical cabin to the one we booked, but we should have been told upfront that the cabin we booked was not available.

Don't Expect a Lot
Motel 6 Fort Stockton TXI would have given this a 1 rating, except for the fact my puppy had an accident on the bed and I insisted on paying for the cleaning, but the manager would not let me. No one was ever at the front desk. When this accident happened, I probably waited for an hour for the attendant to show up, despite a sign that said, "be back in 15 minutes." Then, the outside grounds are dirty. What does it take to have someone pick up trash? I know this is a Motel 6, but the outside was dirty where I was in the back of the hotel. The showers are funky. They are modular units, circular in nature, with the shower head right above the entry into the shower, where the curtain is. Otherwise, the room was decently clean and there was not a lot of noise where I was, but there were not a lot of people staying there. You can't complain about the price though, and really, given the price, I guess I got what I paid for.

Horrible
Royal InnThis place is run down and dirty. It has the old 1950's layout, with a carport next to your unit. Everything was beat up, from the A/C unit to the separate heating unit in the wall. I can't even begin to describe the bathroom, so I won't. The front door was beat up and had key entry, not a modern electronic keyless entry. I view that as a security concern. I could not stay here and asked for my money back. The manager graciously did give me a refund.

Friendly Staff and Clean
Quality Inn & SuitesGood value. Room was clean. My pup chewed the cover up on the TV remote control. I tried to pay for it at checkout and they would not let me! Nice people!

Typical Motel 6
Motel 6 Rockport TXI did not have high standards going in to this because it was a Motel 6. The room was clean, but the outside had trash and garbage on the sidewalk. What would it have taken to sweep away this stuff? The walls transmitted sound like crazy. My nervous dog went nuts at every sound. I can't give it the lowest rating just because it is a Motel 6.

Hill Country Herb GardenThis restaurant has changed its name to the Hill Country Herb Garden. They still like pets! You can't
can't take them in the restaurant, but they have a delightful garden with big oak trees and picnic tables, where you can take your pet and be server. They were so kind! They brought water for my baby Boxer and the owner came out to pet him. The food was great, too!
