Dog friendly only when it's convenient... so consider alternatives in town.

Jax at the Tracks

The food is pretty good at this place, but it's not supported by much in the way of service which tended to be slow during my visits and then there is the matter of their "dog friendly" patio. Yes it is dog friendly when and if they decide to open it. But in my experience they did not and would not open it despite my request to do so. Staffing issue? Maybe. But that's not my problem it's the restaurant's.

Burger me this. Burger me that. Tasty burgers and that's a fact.

Burger Me Truckee

Overall, I like this place. First time I have tried it. Food was tasty. Menu was diverse enough - buffalo, bison and elk burgers along with turkey and regular beef. Plus fish sandwiches, veggie burger and more. Nice choice of cheeses and toppings. Service was quick and friendly. And they have an outdoor patio so I can bring my dog. Centrally located in downtown which can be a plus or a minus depending upon traffic and tourists volume.

A welcome surprise during a long days journey

The Grill

Stopped in Lone Pine for the night. Had been a long day on the road. Discovered this place. While it isn't all that much to look at, the food was surprisingly good and the service was excellent. We sat outdoor at one of their dog friendly tables. There are not a lot of them, but on this evening it was enough. Glad we found the spot. Was worth the stop.

Nice sized outdoor patio right by the river. Food and service are good.

River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant

Stopped by this place for one night. Room was fine for the rate. Opened up onto a large outdoor patio which was great for listening to the river as it flowed by and having drinks and dinner with our dog. She enjoyed wandering around the patio. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and dog-friendly dinner on the patio.

Small narrow patio, but at least they welcome dogs.

Bar of America

This is one of the restaurants/bars owned by the people who also owe Gar Woods (Lake Tahoe) and Water Bar (Sparks). The bar is busy. Service levels vary. Found the patio serve to be good. Bar to be not so good. The narrow outdoor patio accommodates dogs. Food is fairly good. Prices are typical but not insignificant. Patio is a good place to people (and dog) watch.

Go someplace else

Alamo Motel

Pet owners, do you believe that a $40 a night pet fee is warranted in ANY circumstance? Or is this simply a way for hotels/motels to make more revenue? Does your pet's stay really require that much more time and materials on their part? Here is a real recent example of our stay at the Alamo Motel. The room was less than $110 per night (before taxes and fees) which is a good start, but the pet fee was $40 per night. So the fee is over 35% of the room rate. RIDICULOUS.

Oh, and this is for a place that features unfinished plywood floors and unfinished furniture that looks like it just came out of a high school woodworking class. Apologies in advance to high school wood working classes as your work is better than the furniture in this place. Yes I have pictures. This is this motel's definition of pet-friendly. While accommodations in this town are a bit limited, there definitely are alternatives. I'd use them. We won't be returning to this place any time soon.
