I'm an animal lover hands down. I have a 1 year old fawn Great Dane named Duke. He is very loving, energetic, and playful. We always love finding events, parks, and shops to go to! I am a petsitter with my self proclaimed "company", Pleasant Pet Sitting. I pet sit all over the Mt. Pleasant area, including Isle of Palms!

Never again
Park West Recreation ComplexI went to this dog park about 7 years ago. I brought my puppy with me who was about 3 months old. Not only did he get attacked, but the owner did absolutely nothing about it. Unless you count her saying "oh she's just playing" as a behavioral correction. Another reason why I will not be returning is the water. It is disgusting. My pup was just investigating the water and took a little sip; I stopped him immediately. He got Giardia and the next day was spent at the vet, not fun for either of us. He was pretty sick for a few days. I am not going to take that chance again.
nice park, not so responsible owners
Palmetto Islands County ParkI try to take my dog here about once a week. It's the closest park to my house and he really enjoys it.. most of the time. The park itself is average, nothing too special. They do provide a water station, benches, shade, and bags and trash cans; all of which are great! The only reason this didn't get 5 bones is because of some of the encounters I've had here. My dog has been attacked, and is constantly getting aggressive behaviors thrown at him by other dogs. Owners are ignorant and try to blame it on my dog being big. My dog has never retaliated; he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. I have witnessed several fights where rather than taking their dog out of the park, they hold them back for a minute and let them continue to harass other dogs. The park would be excellent if it had an advisor, which I know is not going to happen.
