Excellent food
Las Palmas Mexican Restaurantthe people at Las Palmas could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They brought water bowls out to our dogs and lowered blinds to ensure we had shade. Food was excellent, plentiful and good value,

Nick's English HutNick’s has a large shady patio and a good menu. They were more than happy for accommodate our 2 dogs and brought us a large jug of water

Good location for a stopover
Best Western Plus North Platte Inn & SuitesThe rooms are basic, a little tired but clean. Grass around the hotel makes life easier to walk the dogs.

Starved Rock State ParkMiles of dog friendly trails, especially at the far end of the trail by Illinois cannon as this end is quieter and more natural

Dog Friendly
AmericInn by Wyndham Douglas/SaugatuckHotel is dog friendly, it has plenty of grass around it. We were able to sit in reception to eat breakfast with our dog, the manager even brought him a biscuit. Hotel itself is a little tired and in need of some TLC.

Stone Harbor RestaurantLovely views of the boats, dogs are only allowed on lower terrace. Service was okay, food was average. No offer of water bowl, luckily we had our own, would not rush back

Sonny's Italian Kitchen & PizzeriaFood was okay, nothing special. They brought a water bowl for our dog, they have a water-front terrace and a second floor terrace, which offers views of the bridge, both areas are dog friendly.
