Sand Storm
Pfeiffer BeachTook our puppy to visit this beach. After a two mile drive down a bumpy one lane road, you arrive to the cove. It’s beautiful but the wind makes it impossible to enjoy. It blows the sand at you so hard it hurts. Our dog had a face full of sand and couldn’t walk because of how much it hurt his eyes. We had to cover his face with a hat until the wind stopped and then run to the car.
Beautiful Beach
Cayucos BeachFollow the address to find front row parking at the beach. Full of soft sand and wide hard pack sand to walk your dog on. Lots of other dogs, and everyone kept their dogs on leash.
Spooner’s Cove
Montaña de Oro State ParkHead a few miles into the park to Spooner’s Cove (just type that into maps and it takes you right there). Our puppy ran around off leash and had a great time with other dogs. Only downside is the beach is VERY rocky. Wear tennis shoes!
