Only downside was the smell
Gold Country Inn and Casino by Red Lion HotelsAs everybody else has said, spacious room, friendly staff, accommodating to dogs. In our room, a couple lamps didn't work, and one sink didn't drain great. But there were half a dozen lamps and two sinks, so that wasn't a problem for us.
However, our non-smoking room clearly had been smoked in... A LOT. It smelled terrible and irritated my allergies Oherwise a good place to stay.
Good for people, good for dogs
AmericInn by Wyndham Laramie Near University of WyomingSuper comfortable room, friendly staff, plenty of lawn for dog. Continental breakfast had lots of options.
Comfort - just like the name says
Comfort Inn & Suites Coralville - Iowa City Near Iowa River LandingA big room with a big bed and a little couch. Dog was welcome and relaxed - not bothered by any noise.
Continental breakfast included which eased the price of the room. Good location if you're traveling through - right off the highway, but close to a nice greenway to walk along the river.
Great for dog, great for people.
Taproot Cider HouseSo dog friendly that they brought water for dog even before our ciders. And when the ciders came out they were super delicious!
Plenty of good food options for anybody (meat eater, vegan, gluten free, pizzas, sandwiches, local fish...)
An even better spot than we expected and will come back next time we're in town.
You get what you pay for
Motel 6 Winnemucca NVThis motel is really showing some wear and tear. Smoke smell in our non-smoking room, cramped quarters, and threadbare linens.
But we both slept fine and the dog was welcome.
Great location, friendly staff, no fuss
Travel InnWe arrived without a reservation on a Saturday night and they rearranged rooms to squeeze us in. The hotel has a very good vintage feel and is being renovated piecemeal. So it's quirky and funky, comfy and functional.
Best of all, the staff were accommodating about our dog - an active and antsy Brittany - and recommended some good options for how to enjoy our time.
A diamond in the ruff.
