Great Spot, fun Pool, easy access to Bike Trail

Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center

We have stayed here a couple of times, we love it, it's our go-to Sonoma spot. They are mid-renovation (2019) we stayed in the "new" side and the rooms were great, they open into an enclosed patio where the kids could walk to breakfast. The pools and hot tubs all met with family approval, and there is a convenient place to relieve your pet! The staff apparently like our pooch, they treated her like a family member (she sat outside the breakfast room and stared longingly in the windows)

The hotel is about 20 yards from a skate park that links up with a network of trails for walking/scootering/biking and my 5-year-old son, 8-year-old dog and I take full advantage!

The bathrooms have large showers with full glass, so even our dog got a shower, we really love the place.

Great City Views and room to Run

Alamo Square Park

We have what I would call a medium-sized dog, but apparently, in the city environment, she is "big"...I don't know, she's 65 Lb lab...i grew up with a Malamute and my brother has a Neuffy...so it's relative. But we tend to go to parks with more space and less fencing because that's what we like. We live in the hood, and honestly, don't go here enough...but every time we do it's a good hour-two hour jaunt and we come back tired and happy.

We like it, but not for everyone

Duboce Park Dog Play Area

This is one of our neighborhood parks, we come here all the time. It is a VERY busy dog park and has a long unfenced side along a MUNI route...so if your dog has a tendency to bolt for any reason...Duboce Park is probably not for you! There are so many options in SF, pick one where your dog will be safe. That said I'm often here twice in a day, and have never had an issue with my own dog @ Duboce. Lots of neighborhood people and dogs, just hanging out and getting some sun, and the Park Cafe on the corner has good coffee and people treats..as well as the best dog "hitching post" I've ever used, I'll snap a photo and see if I can add it later,

Just be smart, it's a great park but can be VERY crowded!

Mission Dolores Park Dog Park

75% of the time Dolores park is awesome for both dogs and kids. The off-leash area, while not fenced in, is a sloping bowl that mostly keeps dogs close. Our dog is fine off-leash, so it never bothers us, we prefer the wide-open space offered here, the working dog fountain for drinks and generally great weather. Plus the kids play area was redone in 2017 and our kid loves it, so I can "run" them both at the same time, But please, use your head, Delores park is also one of the most heavily populated urban parks I have ever seen anywhere...on days when there are 6,000 people hanging out enjoying lots of adult beverages and other relaxations in the small park...maybe you should find another place to get your dog's outdoor time! Delores park is awesome, but some days are just not the right day to bring your dog.

Our Dog's Favorite

Fort Funston Beach

We love Fort Funston! Our 65 lb lab can run and play for hours and it's truly off-leash, plus the beach is surrounded by hills with trails that she can run, and always be in sight. It's a Norther Cal beach on the Pacific Ocean, so bring a windbreaker and jacket every time, every season, no matter what you "think" the weather will be like, you'll probably need it!

Puppy Heaven

The Park

A place your pup is always welcome, with hugs and treats and room to play! Not to mention an ice-cold beer for daddy and treats for the kids.
