Comfortable Place to Stay on the Way to Joshua Tree
Oxford Suites LancasterFred Basset enjoyed his stay and the Oxford Inn & Suites Lancaster. The room was comfortable and clean and the queen bed very comfortable. Although the designated pet relief area was small and sandy, there were adequate areas around the building. When we checked in, we were given a room near an exit door so Fred could easily go outside -- very convenient. The staff were friendly, helpful and pet friendly.
When we told the front desk clerk we were concerned about leaving Fred in the room while we ate breakfast (Fred sometimes howls when left alone), he said not to worry, he would phone us if there was a problem. (There wasn't!) The hot breakfast was great -- better than most -- with freshly prepared omelettes! Great place to stay with your pet, especially if you are looking for a great breakfast! Fred said he would stay there again!
Restful Stay
La Quinta by Wyndham Los BanosFred Basset enjoyed a very restful night at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Los Banos. Although the room was not upscale, it had all the necessary amenities -- mini refer, flat screen TV with satellite, coffee pot and hot shower. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast offered was the normal hot waffles, breads and rolls, cereal, yogurt, some fresh fruit, etc. Okay, but nothing special. The front desk clerk and other staff were friendly and helpful. Fred said he would stay here again when passing through Los Banos.
Fred Basset Loved His Stay at the Portlander Inn!
The Portlander Inn and MarketplaceFred Basset (and his parents) felt very welcomed at the Portlander Inn. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Although not luxurious, our room was more than adequate - it was reasonably large and comfortable with microwave and refrigerator and a large flat screen TV and a very comfy bed. Our stay was short, so we were not able to enjoy the cinema, fitness center or music venue. We did enjoy having a complimentary freshly prepared breakfast and were impressed with the in-room coffee as well. (Fred enjoyed his dog food in the room, supplied by us.) The hotel is part of a truck stop and its location is in an commercial area, near I-5, with easy access to the sights of Portland. At the hotel, we did not feel at all like we were in a commercial area or near a freeway. Fred Basset (and his parents) said he would love to stay here again!

Very dog friendly with lots of adjacent park-like areas for dog walking. Great hotel amenities; great value! Fred Basset will definitely stay again the next time he is in Eugene.
