modern, clean hotel, pets allowed

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Portland Beaverton

Staff is very friendly and this modern, clean hotel has well-appointed rooms with kitchenette, sitting area, work desk, closet systems, smart TVs, and free wifi. We stayed for 2 weeks with our 3-year-old pup while we were there on business. The hotel is centrally located near food, shopping, and easy access to the highway. Despite being right next to the highway we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. We were on a ground floor with easy access along the interior hallway to exit doors so we could take our pup outside.

Our King studio room was somewhat cramped for space so on particularly cold or rainy days we took our pup up and down the hallways of every floor so he could have a fun time sniffing everything and getting a little romp in the bargain. There is a tiny square patch of lush grass in the back, perhaps 10'x10' with a dog waste station but our dog absolutely refused to set foot on it. The grass strip on the median across the street is littered with trash and cigarette butts. The best grassy area we found was over in front of the Cracker Barrel nearby and although it's right on a busy street there are street lights and the area is clean with nice, lush grass. The front and back parking lots of the hotel are spacious and well-lit with motion sensor lights so I didn't feel unsafe at any time while taking my pup outside in the dark for his potty runs. There is a nice, fenced-in pool area which was closed for the winter while we were there and the staff very kindly allowed us to let our pup have a little off-leash romp in this area so he could have some exercise. There is a nice breakfast served daily with a selection of cold foods as well as fresh-cooked options, plus fresh fruit or cookies at the front desk. The coin-operated laundry machines on the premises proved a bit persnickety but the front desk staff was very helpful. The housekeeping service was slow nearly every day -- we would leave early in the morning and upon our return in the afternoon the room was still not serviced. The walls seemed a little thin and there was some noise but our pup managed to settle in without causing a fuss during our 2-week stay.

Overall it's a modern, clean hotel with easy access and it's a good choice for anyone staying more than a couple of days. The hotel could make some improvements in the grassy areas available around the property for travelers with pets.

excellent pet-friendly accommodation, clean, comfortable

Best Western Plus Loveland Inn

Staff is very friendly and welcoming, this hotel is clean and comfortable. The first floor pet-friendly rooms are arranged at the edge of the property to allow easy access to the enclosed courtyard with plenty of lighting for those middle-of-the-night potty runs. The courtyard has lush green grass and plenty of trees and shrubs around the perimeter for dogs to have fun exploring and relaxing as well as a gazebo with plenty of seating. It's a nice, safe space for humans and pets. There are lots of bunnies living amongst the shrubbery in the coutyard...my pup was very distracted wanting to chase them instead of attending to his business lol.

The staff keeps the grounds very clean which is greatly appreciated. There were several other dogs in the rooms directly adjacent, and despite hearing the occasional bark which is par for the course we all had a good, restful night and our pup settled right in without getting overly concerned about the other dogs nearby. The hotel is just off the freeway but we never noticed any traffic noise from the room.

My one suggestion for the property would be to add dog waste stations in the courtyard area with a trash receptable specifically for pet waste. We stayed here twice during our multi-state road trip -- we liked it so much the first time that we stayed again on the return leg of our journey. It will definitely be on our itinerary when we come through this area.

clean, comfy for humans and pets

La Quinta by Wyndham Twin Falls

Staff is very friendly and welcomed our pup with a tasty biscuit and a snuggle which he loved. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Our pup had fun trotting down the long hallways sniffing along the way which gave him lots of enjoyment. There is a small grass area at one end of the hotel along the street where dogs can relieve themselves. There is a dog waste station there but the bags were so flimsy I ended up using my own. The grassy area does not get cleaned up very often I think, there were plenty of 'land mines' so keep your eyes on the ground where you're walking and take an LED flashlight because it's not well-lit in the dark. That being said we will definitely stay here again when we come through this area next time -- it is quiet, spacious and comfortable, plenty of restaurant options nearby, gas, and the staff is very pet-friendly.

clean and comfy for humans and pets

La Quinta by Wyndham Amarillo Airport

Staff is very friendly, this new hotel is clean and very comfortable. There are lush grassy areas around the hotel for pets to relieve themselves with dog waste stations and plenty of lighting at night. The hotel is right on the freeway so there's easy access to the location but the road noise didn't disturb us inside the room. Our pup settled right in with us and we all had a restful night. We will definitely plan on staying here the next time we come through.

clean, comfortable, noisy night inside, fire ants outside

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Childress an IHG Hotel

Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable enough.
There are grassy areas around the perimeter of the hotel for dogs to relieve themselves, but be advised there are lots of fire ant mounds throughout those areas and I had to look closely to keep my pup away from those, especially in the darkness. My pup also sniffed out several pieces of discarded food items in the lawn area within a few feet of the building itself but fortunately I managed to coax him to drop it before he ingested anything.
We asked for a quiet room at the end of a hallway away from other dogs if possible because our 3-year-old pup barks sometimes when he senses people or other dogs nearby. We were given a room next to a door labeled 'staff only' and over the course of the night there was frequent foot traffic back and forth into that room while staff did their nightly cleaning and laundry. Every time someone walked by and went in/out that door we would hear the door open/close and our pup would get concerned and bark. It was literally the worst night's rest we had on the entire trip.
