Off-leash heaven
Hinckley ParkLots of windy paths, two ponds for swimming, open fields: this is dog heaven and yes, off-leash is permitted. Go!
One size fits all!
Dog Park at White Rock Lake ParkThis park has it all: a lake for swimming, a romp and roam play space, agility spots. Any dog would love it Here! And for us, ample parking, bag dispensers and cans. And a pretty place.
Must be good off-leash!
Cottonwood Park Off-Leash Dog AreaFair warning: this park has no fence, so your dog must obey off-leash. But it has windy crushed gravel paths and access to the river, so if your dog loves the water, this place is lovely.
Nowhere to go
Canyonlands National ParkThe ranger said dogs could not access any trail and basically are limited to parking lots for day visitors. Signs even bar dogs from paved sidewalks to and from said lots. I have visited 20 national parks so far, and this was strictest by far. Disappointing.
