Excellent Park - Smelly!

Newtown Dream Dog Park

This park is perfect for us! We love the fountains, pools, obstacles, and the fact that it is two parks in one! Our only issue with this is that with the astroturf it gets a RIPE smell. Wednesdays are the cleaning days (from a sign we saw, but maybe we're wrong) and by Sunday we are in the wooded area only. The best part is really that it's dealer's choice, either the wooded lot side or the side of the fun fountains, and there's a gate too that can be closed to separate the sides if you don't want to leave but want to be in a less populated half. People at this park are very casual and kind.

Fun but really dirty

Chattapoochee Dog Park

The large breed side is a decent size and we really enjoyed the fountain. The owners were very kind and the dogs were well-behaved.
However, every time we have been there was poop Everywhere. Not the normal occasional left amount, but every other step dodging a pile level of poop. Owners do Not pick up after their large dogs on that side evidently. The bag holders were empty and there was a good deal of unattended tweens and kids as well, of which did not pick up after their dogs.

Warning

Pinckneyville Park Dog Park

The park had/has potential as it is very large and wooded. Unfortunately, too many irresponsible dog owners attend and do not correct or remove their dog when they are aggressive. I've witnessed at Least one dogfight every time, and multiple times the owners remained even with a dog that has been bloodied or has drawn blood. It's insane.
I have three submissive girls that I bring with my husband and while we are walking with and watching ours they have been pinned and attacked on numerous occasions with the owner either sitting and talking and paying No attention, or the owner says their dog is just grouchy. If your dog is grouchy once, fine. These dogs are repeatedly snapping and pinning others on multiple days though. One person attending INTRODUCES his dog as aggressive and "he's probably going to go after your dog a couple times but he hasn't done damage".

We are incredibly disheartened because this is a 4-minute drive from our house and such a great space for the times when there are sweet pups. The risk at this point isn't worth it.
