Friendly with amazing views!

My room in this family-owned motel (#25) was very clean and comfortable. No musty smells and a very clean bathroom. It was small, but perfect for 1 person and my medium-sized dog. Upon check-in, the owner asked a lot of questions related to my dog, such as whether I brought a blanket to cover the bedspread and whether I had poop bags. I appreciated that because his vigilance meant that the place would be more likely to be clean. I also felt bad for him because it sounds like he's encountered some irresponsible dog owners.

He and his daughter both warned me that the stairs to the second floor were grated, which many dogs have trouble with. My dog did -- it seems like she can't discern the stair part and just saw air. I didn't have a problem carrying her up and down, but that might be a problem for bigger dogs. But again, I was sufficiently warned before making the reservation. I slept through breakfast, but it sounded good (basic stuff like hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc). It's on a side street, off the hustle of main street. And the setting is amazing with a spectacular view of the mountains and right on the edge of a flowing river (as the name suggests.) I didn't use the hot tubs (open 24 hours) or the patio (with a fire pit at night) except to walk through while my dog sniffed her way toward the dog park conveniently located right behind the motel. I'd stay again for sure.

great food and fun for dogs

I've had a few meals here and each has been delicious & fresh. You can eat there at their plastic tables, or take your food to go and eat at the park across the street. (Park signs say 'no dogs' but I've never been there when there weren't at least 3 dogs hanging out with their humans.) You could also walk around the corner to the pedestrian zone and sit on the curb. It's great that the people who run this food truck are very nice, too!

fresh food and shady outdoor location

This food truck restaurant serves up delicious Mediterranean food, including gyros & salads. I sat with my dog at one of the picnic tables and enjoyed the shade. The people who run the place were kind and helpful and my dog was completely welcome.

excellent spot to eat with my dog

My dog was one of 4 pups having lunch! All humans & dogs were well behaved and quite happy to be on the covered patio in the rain. The BBQ burger with bacon & onion rings was delicious.
