May 2020, I adopted a 9 year old pittie mix named Gracie. She's such a good dog and I'm trying very hard to be the best dog mom I can be.

Great food; Dog friendly

Crushcakes Cafe

Our hotel (which I also found on BringFido) was only a few blocks from here, so it was a perfect morning walk for my dog and for me to get breakfast. The food was really good, the iced lattes (specifically the cinnamon honey) were amazing, and the employees were all super friendly to me and my dog. And the cupcakes...delicious! I would definitely recommend this place, as it's nice and relaxing, and on a quiet corner where you and your pupper can just hang out on the patio.

Location, Location, Location!

Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown

I loved that this La Quinta is good walking distance from so many places. There are a lot of restaurants on State St., and a nice park/garden only a few blocks away. The hotel is very dog friendly, however, the area for them to potty is very small...I'd suggest just walking around the neighborhood (which felt very safe) or to the park I mentioned for some quick exercise.

Unfortunately, we had to change rooms the first day because the shower handle in our old room broke off in my hand as I was trying to turn it on, the bathroom door handle was also broken when we arrived. The employee at the front desk was able to move us immediately, which was great, and our new room was actually bigger...same size bed, just bigger room...the first room was quite small and cramped, even for just one adult and one dog.

There wasn't any breakfast/food service because we visited during COVID, but as mentioned, the hotel is near many restaurants so it wasn't a big deal. Parking kinda sucks (not enough spaces for as many guests), and they are doing construction next door, but I'd stay here again because the positives outweigh the negatives.

Dog approved!

OstrichLand USA

My dog seemed to really enjoy interacting with the ostriches and emus...so much so that she tried to get INSIDE the pens with them to play! We only stayed long enough to feed one bucket of food because my dog was being a total goober, but I'd totally recommend bringing your dog if they can behave. It's very a quiet and peaceful experience. It does get hot out there so bring water or go when it's not peak sun.
