Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Abingdon VAI get that there are usually dedicated "people with pets stay here" rooms in most hotels, and that's fine. Have to say, though, that this was the least human-friendly pet-friendly room I've stayed in. Part of that was due to traveling during covid... I wasn't at all confident in the hotel's cleaning procedures and I spent a lot of time Lysoling surfaces and wiping things down. The room smelled like wet dog which, OK, yes, I get, there was probably a wet dog in there at some point, but considering the floor was tile (makes cleaning up messes a breeze, I'm sure) having such a strong scent was a surprise. I was expecting something cleaner and a bit cozier for this hotel's price tag.

Clean & pleasant in the time of COVID
Hampton Inn & Suites Woodstock VAI usually try to stay at Hampton Inns when roadtripping because I find their quality is consistent regardless of location. Especially now when we couldn't avoid a cross-country drive despite the ongoing pandemic, I wanted to be somewhere I was sure would be extra clean, and this location didn't disappoint. We were just there for the night, but had as nice a time as we could considering the circumstances and our quick timeline. The guy at reception was very friendly and cooed over how cute Poppy was, so points for that.
