Overnight stay
Motel 6 Sidney OHOur Airstream was being serviced in Jackson Center so we needed a dog friendly hotel for 1 night. Not wanting to spend a fortune since we had a hefty bill waiting for us back at the service center, we decided to give Motel 6 in Sidney a chance at $66. I have to say, it was better than I expected. The rooms are simple, clean, and the staff is friendly. It's not a new hotel and there are no extras except coffee in the lobby (no shampoo or conditioner either in the bathrooms, only body soap) but it does look like the rooms could have had a renovation in recent years. For the price, we would stay here again. There's a Kroger across the street and a slew of restaurants within walking distance.
Excellent Dog Friendly RV Resort
Travelers CampgroundThe dog park here is huge and filled with obstacles to play on. In it is also a dog wash station. You'll have to bring your own water bottles to give Fido a drink from, but otherwise it's one of the nicest dog runs we've seen at an RV park. The RV park itself is very well maintained, restrooms clean, sites level and long enough for a tow vehicle. It's super easy access to I75 but sheltered enough that you don't hear road noise. We enjoyed our 2 night stop over very much.
What a cool place!
Mackworth IslandNothing beats walking through a beautiful forest with the ocean alongside. This island is super cute and the trails are mostly flat and very easy. There are a few spots with water access. There's even a little fairy village! The only downside is the parking is super limited so when it's full you have to go back over the causeway to park on a side street. Small per person fee to park on the island.
Amazing park!
Wolfe's Neck Woods State ParkGorgeous views, easy trails, lots of stimulation and exercise for dogs of any size or athleticism. There is a small parking fee but it's totally worth spending a few hours. Picnic area, rest rooms, 10 minutes from LLBean and the Freeport outlets. The Jameson Tavern in town is also dog friendly on their patio.
