Wouldn’t stay again.
Red Roof Inn AkronI knew this was a budget choice and I thought I’d be ok enough with it. I had low expectations but the location and price was tempting for a quick sleep during a road trip. When I pulled in I almost left. It’s a dark location and only parking lots around. The front desk attendant was really nice and that would be the one positive thing I could say about the stay. Anyway; she said the police monitor the parking lot and it had been very quiet that night. That should have been my first clue though. The room was tiny (not a surprise and fine with me) but really smelly. Smoke mostly I think, despite their non smoking policy. I didn’t want to walk back outside again and I decided to try to make it a few hours and then just hitting the road really early. It was a bad choice on my part. It was stinky, the heating system was lagging (it was 53 when I got there), and I wasn’t thrilled about using the thin blanket. There was one towel that could pass as a body towel and a mid size one that has a huge shredded hole. There was tons of noise outside the room that night (lots of people in/out, a metal shopping cart from wallmart, and a small gap under the door which made everything seem louder. Neither the dog nor I slept that night.
