Hi, my family and I love bringing our dogs on vacation with us. My husband Nick and I are in our mid fifties and Nick has lung issues so we mostly vacation to unwind and relax. Our children are 22 and 18 and have vacationed with us since they were infants. We enjoy several vacations a year.

Our favorite place to stay in CT

Residence Inn by Marriott Milford

We love staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Milford when we have appointments in New Haven. They have clean, spacious and comfy rooms, delicious breakfasts by Troy and pleasant, courteous check-in and checkout with Tia and April. And it is such a relief to have a decent walking area for our dogs. You can circle the whole property, half of which is paved and half is grassy. The nice long stretch in back conveniently has a doggie clean up station at each end. And nice stairs with an exit/entrance door at each end of the building so you do not need to go thru the lobby if your pooch is a little anxiety ridden by elevators or people. We highly recommend Residence Inn by Marriott Milford, our first choice when in CT.

Thank you for all you do for the homeless dogs

Burlington County Animal Alliance of New Jersey

I glanced Thru some of these reviews and it is sad to see the criticism. Some clearly do not even seem to understand that this is not a shelter of paid employees but it is a group of volunteer fosters, many of which work regular full time jobs and have families to care for, but they find it in their hearts to take time to care for and help homeless pets find loving homes.
I just want to say thank you to all of you at BCAA past, present and future for trying so hard to help these animals. You have all made a positive difference in so many lives including ours and our dear Toto that you rescued and we adopted.

Lovely relaxing stay

St. Tropez

We stayed at Saint Tropez for a relaxing week in early May. The unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower in main bathroom was beautifully and newly tiled with handicap bar. Views from nicely sized balconies were gorgeous. Large table to dine at and kitchen was just right to cook some meals while there. Beach was steps from our unit and outdoor pool (although still closed for the season while we were there) looked inviting. Staff was wonderful and welcoming. Luke our maintenance supervisor, took the time to make friends with our Scottish terrier, Toto, and help to make him feel welcome too. Overall, a perfectly relaxing off season visit.

Loved our visit to Assateague National Seashore

Assateague National Seashore

This is a fabulous place to visit especially when staying in OC, MD. We did a day trip here and loved it even though it was so extremely windy and a little cooler being the early part of May. The horses were not on the beach due to the high winds but we did get to see several on the other side of the island. Toto did walk briefly here but would’ve loved to walk more had the weather been more accommodating.

Great place for a nice walk

Northside Park

We had a nice walk along the spacious paved walkways and boardwalk pier here. 3 different options for walking paths longest being about a mile but also can take shorter path.

Great beach in the off season for dogs

Ocean City Beach

We visited in early May during a very windy week with temps in the 50’s. The beach was pretty much deserted. It would’ve been an awesome walk along the shore but the wind was a little too much for Toto. But would visit again in the off season.

Wonderful stay with Toto

Hyatt Place Roanoke Airport/Valley View Mall

We had a wonderful two night stay here with our Scottish terrier Toto. Was able to walk him around the building outside. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. And breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Can walk dog in a field next to parking lot

Silver Sands State Park

If looking for a place to walk your dogs, you can walk them in the field next to the parking lot and can see a little of the beach from afar. But dogs are not allowed to cross the footbridge over to the beach. My husband waited back at the car with our dogs after we walked them and then my daughter and I walked over the footbridge (boardwalk) over to the beach. That is a splendid walk. So wish my husband and our dogs could have enjoyed it too.

Lovely scenic walk along the shoreline

Anchor Beach

Lovely scenic walk along the shoreline but dogs are not allowed on the actual beach. I would still recommend a visit for a nice walk but don’t want anyone to be disappointed when they arrive and realize dogs cannot go on the beach.
