Mostly mellow, always cool

Northacres Park Off-Leash Area

When you and your dog(s) need shade on one of Seattle’s increasingly toasty summer days, North Acres delivers. It also has a built in water unit, bags, some downed trees and stumps you can use for agility training, and regular upkeep from volunteers (the reviewer complaining about not being allowed in probably came during one of their regularly scheduled restoration sessions). The narrow, branching trails are perfect for training privacy, and they offer a haven to shy dogs who want to walk off leash without being cornered. Other reviewers are correct that it’s not built for ball throwing, but there are a few spots regular visitors use that work just fine.
