Good Park, Okay Location
Higgins Dog ParkThe park itself is very well maintained, and has ample amenities such as a water fountain, lights, waste bags, benches, and picnic tables. The shade trees are new, but will grow with time, and plans are in place to add a walking path. Parking is the one item that could be improved: traffic and people speeding on Channing Ave can be very dangerous for loading/ unloading your pet, be extra cautious if you park on the street.
Basic Park for a Boujee City
Pooch Playland Dog ParkThe park is in a hard to find area, and is very limited in features. The last time I was there, I only recall the park having a fenced area...no seating, shade, water, walking paths, etc. Major room for improvement in my opinion.
Great Park - Confusing Entrance?
Crow-Hassan Dog Off-Leash AreaWent the other day for the first time, and found the entrance to be a little confusing. There is no fence near the entrance, and dog owners seemed to have a hard time determining if their dog should be off leash or not, in the parking area. Also, the park requires an entry fee, but the payment must be made online, which would be fine if the park had reliable cell service. I find it kind of absurd to require a fee at a dog park with no fence or amenities, and besides, almost nobody was stopping at the kiosk to read the rules or pay for a daily pass. That whole system could be improved. Other than that, it's a great space!
Bring some peanuts and cracker jacks!
Lowertown Dog ParkThe park is very small and compact, but incredibly well designed for the space it is in. The landscaping is amazing, and having the ability to see the baseball games at adjacent CHS Field make this one of the most fun and unique dog park experiences in Minnesota. Well worth a visit if you get the chance!
