Bad timing
Red Roof Inn Birmingham SouthThey were renovating and didn't tell us until we checked in. They told us at check-in that our special rate room would not be cleaned until we checked out 4 nights later. Second night the creek behind the hotel overflowed into parking lot. 4am alarms going off (hotel and iPhones) and woman came to door asking if we had a beagle in our room. No, but we had a Subaru that got flooded in their parking lot and hit on one side and had no idea how bad it was till next morning. We had to stay in town to meet contractors at our house we are trying to sell. We contacted our insurance and moved to Aloft ASAP. The flooding was not the hotel’s “fault” per se but their reaction to the storm was. The room was sticky and gross, and our car filthy. Not fun.
Nice clean hotel
La Quinta by Wyndham Birmingham HooverWalls are a bit thin and sadly we were next to a stressed out yapping little dog who was left alone for a long time late at night. This is our go-to spot in BHM though with our 40 pound dog Millie. Convenient!
