Two separate outdoor seating areas!
Aloha SnacksDon't let the word Snacks in their name fool you! This was a full meal! I got The Boss BBQ Sammy and my husband got the Cowboy Burger. We also got fried dumplings, an Ube Malasada, a Pain Killer and a Pineapple Squeeze. Everything was great! The service was prompt and friendly. Parking was easy. And, seating with our pup was easy. Great casual dining restaurant!
Amazing food!!!
Firebrew Bar & GrillGreat service! Delicious food! The patio has panels that can roll down to provide more shade, if needed, for you and your pup. Highly recommend!
Great place for people and pups!
Elation BrewingGreat beer, very dog-friendly and good ambiance. Highly recommend!
Great for keeping dogs cool in the heat
Lake Norman State ParkWe did the Lakeshore Trail and it was great. It was well-marked, shady and had benches for resting, so even our Newf mix was fine in 80 degree temps. Be sure to bring water and a bowl because it is a long trail (5+ miles), though there is a shortcut during the hike that makes it more like 3 miles. Also, be prepared for quite a bit of hills. We had a great time!
Great location
Apps & TapsCame here for lunch. They have two levels of patio space. Dogs are on a different level than the rest of the guests. This makes for a more relaxing experience. There is a self-service water station so you can refill your dog’s bowl, as needed. Food was really good. Try the Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower. Wish they had a sipping rum, but that’s a personal preference. Shade was good at lunch time.
Great rest after walking around
Old Town Mexican CafeDogs are allowed on the patio and we had plenty of space and shade. They brought our girl ice water and helped us keep it refreshed while we were there. Another reviewer said the food wasn’t “elevated” in any way. That may be a fair assessment, but it was still good food!!! Exactly what you’d expect!!! And, the service was also good.
Good for us
Key Plaza CreperieThe food and coffee were really good! The tables are along the sides of the walkway, though, and abut a parking lot. So, there was lots of foot traffic and cars, if your dog gets excited by that sort of thing. But, there was shade for us all.
Shaded patio!
Croissants de France de Stock IslandThere are two locations, so this is about the Stock Island location. They had mostly pastries, but also three types of quiche and a handful of sandwiches (more lunch than breakfast). But, the shaded patio was great for our pup. You don’t have to check in. Just grab a table in the patio. You order and pick up your food inside. If you want eggs and a full hot breakfast, this probably isn’t the place you’re looking for. But, if you want a ham and cheese croissant or a slice of quiche, it’s great. Bring your own water bowl!
Nice staff and good food
Connolly's Shore GrillThere is lots of patio seating, which is a good thing. We got there relatively early so most of the outside tables were open. But, it filled up quickly. There was a bowl of water by the building for pups, but they didn’t bring anything to the table. We were not offered a dog menu as one of the other reviewers noted, even when we specified we needed to order for the dog. The staff was very nice, but seemed to be stretched too thin. Service was very slow, which made for antsy kids and dogs. You could tell they were trying, though! And, we appreciated that.
Great place for you and your pup!
Hurricane Patty'sThe food was really good, and the location is nice, but the service was what really made it! They have pups of their own and treated ours like they’d want theirs treated. They brought a bowl of water without us having to ask. They had treats on hand. The patio was shaded and had plenty of space, so you weren’t right up on the the other tables. Really enjoyed it!
Lovely and peaceful!
Washington Oaks Gardens State ParkWe randomly found this place and it was great! Our dog can get overheated quickly. So, we love walking trails where she can enjoy the outdoors, but in a shaded environment. This was perfect! The trails were well maintained and there was a port-a-potty to use. We were the only folks on the trails, so it was really peaceful! As mentioned, you’ll want to bring water and a bowl along. Also, you’ll need $5 to enter at the honor box.

Rock Bottom Restaurant & BreweryIf this was a different platform, they’d be a solid 4. The food and drinks were really good. The ambiance was cool. The service was extremely slow, but post-COVID, we’ve all had to adjust our service expectations, so I can deal with that. But, because this is BringFido, I feel like the review should be less bones. Cons: They did not have any bowls to bring our dog water. Luckily, we had a travel bowl and brought our own water. Also, we started off in the shade, but by 2:30p-ish, there was no shade left. Our girl has a thick coat and was hot! Pros: The staff were all friendly to our dog. They were able to ring in a kids burger for us to feed her. There’s a splash pad beside it that any dog that likes to play in the water would love (there were no kids playing in it when we were there).
Todays breakfast
Goose Feathers an Express Cafe & BakeryThe staff was very friendly and the service was fast. As mentioned, there are 4 small outside tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. But, it would be difficult to fit more than 2 people at those tables. It’s perfect for a couple with a dog. There are lots of people and some other dogs walking by, so be aware of any limitations your dog may have in that regard. There was not a waiting list or any check-in procedure for an outdoor table when we visited, but they want you to have ordered first. Someone from your party has to go inside to order the food. Then, you can grab an open table. But, be aware those outside tables were quickly spoken for by both people with dogs and without. They give you the drinks, but bring the food to your table. We had our own water and water bowl that we used so not sure if they would have offered us one. We didn’t see them bring anything like that out to any other people there with dogs, though. So, it’s probably best to come prepared. (They have a communal water bowl by the front door.) Staff was very friendly!
Great views
Watermen's Bar and GrillPls read the other reviews and understand you need at least two people to successfully take a dog here. One grabs a table outside with the dog. The other goes in and orders your food. The staff brings water bowls for the pups. Food is good. Views are great! The patio is very busy (diners, kite boarders, etc) and parking is always tight. It’s worth it, but know that going in so you’re prepared.
Amazing food!
Pangea TavernWhen we visited, there was a server on the patio. There’s plenty of shade over the tables and grassy areas for your dog to walk and play. They brought our dog a water bowl when they brought our waters. We felt welcome at all times. We’ve been here multiple times over the years. The food and drinks have always been terrific!
Try the Brussel Sprouts!
Futo ButaThere was a bit of a wait for the patio as the weather was terrific. But, the staff was very communicative and checked on us multiple times. They brought us a water bowl with our drinks. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive. They were great with our pup. Be aware this is on a cable car style line so the train cars are coming and going the whole time. Also, the whole area is very dog-friendly, so lots of dogs are walking by with their people. If your dog is scared by large vehicles or distracted by other dogs, try to hit it at an off-peak time.
Dog Friendly Fun
Weeping Radish Farm BreweryThe host brought us a bowl of water as soon as we sat down. He also moved the umbrella to give us maximum shade coverage which was ample. The waitress brought Stormy treats. Other staff came out to meet her and say hello. The lawn area is great for walking around. We were very pleased with our experience here. (Also, previous reviewer said you could not get a flight on the patio. But, two groups did order them and get them while we were there.)
Great place for a layover!
Aloft Raleigh Durham Airport Brier CreekWe were on a long drive and needed a hotel that allowed a large dog. We had a great stay! They also have electric car chargers, which was a nice plus.
Good for pups
Torch BistroOur server, Spencer, brought us a water bowl for our pup at the same time he brought us waters. He refilled it when it got low and we didn’t even have to ask. Patio umbrellas kept Stormy and us in the shade. I had a really unique, “The New Guy”. The Mac & Cheese is really upscale. Enjoyable experience with the whole pack!
Nice shaded and roomy patio
Kelly's TavernOur server was great and brought Stormy a bowl of water with our drinks. They also have industrial fans running. Between the shade and the fans, even on a hot day, it’s comfortable to sit outside. Good menu selection, too.
