Perfect Stop On Our Way To Alabama

Sonesta Simply Suites Nashville Brentwood

This is our 2nd Road-trip where we consciously chose to travel with our two dogs, both Bulldogs 65 lbs. They love the open road.

We booked the day prior to leaving through BringFido with no issues.

Book in was a cinch and we were accommodated with a ground floor room which was a few steps from the stairwell exit.

There is a very large open grassy field right behind the hotel which is great for walks and doggy business (if they’ll ever actually poop on leash), but be cautious we were told there is coyotes in the field at night.

Room was spacious and the dogs LOVED the toilet water. Only complaint was the single queen bed, we’d have preferred two beds to sleep in. I especially liked the environmentally friendly shower soaps mounted on the walls vs the wasteful little bottles.

Parking with our camper in tow was a breeze with lots of pull through spots available and bright lighting in the parking lot.

Super Dog Friendly!!

Fort Morgan RV Park

We chose the Fort Morgan RV Park as our first foray into tent trailer camping with our new LivinLite Quicksilver camper. I found the RV Park on BringFido website for its dog friendly listing but upon exploring their website I was impressed that it was a quaint park with limited Sites and seemed low key and not crowded.

A phone call was all that was needed to secure our spot for 9 days, site 22 on the eastern fence line of the property with 2 large trees for shade.

Upon arrival we made ourselves at home, each site clearly labeled. Sue and Capt. Rob greeted us to the park. The park is currently under some renovations from Hurricane damage but they are working hard to get everything fixed up.

We were able to tie up the dogs to one of the nearby trees flanking our spot, we’d brought two 15ft leashes which were the perfect length. The dog run is at the back of the property and is a low wire fenced in area. My dogs had no issues clearing the fence but for the most part just enjoyed some leash free time and runnies in the sand. Beware of the Lawn Burweed which may make your dogs limp if they get a burr stuck in their paws (they hurt your hands pulling them out too). Bring your own poop bags to clean up after your pets. Almost everyone here had dogs and it’s a very friendly dog community with some standard rules (see picture).

If you are looking to head to the beach to have some fun with your dog, head to Fort Morgan National Site. The dog friendly beach is on the north side (Mobile Bay) between the fishing pier and wooden pier, if you park at the wooden pier just before the park entrance you can use the beach for free. We opted to pay a few bucks to have our car closer to the bathrooms. Dogs are welcomed gladly throughout Fort Morgan monument as long as they are leashed, it’s worth a look and easily a full day of exploring!! Dauphin Island is also dog friendly and a shirt ferry ride across the bay.

Super Dog friendly Hotel!

Days Inn by Wyndham Edmundston

We stayed at the Days Inn Edmundston for one night on our way to and returning from a two week vacation in Nova Scotia. We had 3 dogs, two Bulldogs (65lbs ) and a Jack Russell Terrier with no issues. We had a ground floor room with sliding doors to the outside for ease of getting in and out of our room. The property had lots of grassed areas surrounding the Hotel. This was our first stay in a hotel with our dogs and so happy we were recommended the Days Inn as a Dog Friendly stay!
