Great Park for on and off leash dogs

We are local to the area and go here almost weekly! The entire park is open to dogs (on-leash) but there is a marked area where dogs are allowed off-leash under voice control. Be aware there are still rules in this area (no dogs on sports fields) so voice control is needed!

    Fun Family Outing

We spent hours today exploring the trails, forts, & gardens with our 9 month old pup, Bruno! We kept him leashed the entire time but used our 7ft-er which was perfect. Everyone was super respectful and asked permission before approaching him. He’s friendly but a bit shy so it was a great opportunity to up his socialization! The grounds are very well kept and the views on the walking trails are beautiful. Plenty of shady spots to cool off if it’s a warmer day and there’s even a small rocky beach that is dog friendly year round. We had a blast & will definitely be back!

    Great Park with Lighthouse

Fort Williams Park is beautiful! Great walks along the coast. Interesting history regarding the lighthouse and fort. Part of the Portland Discovery Land and Sea Tours. Dogs are welcome everywhere except inside the buildings. Several food trucks are on site. Great place for a picnic. Dogs are to be on leash at all times but we saw several dogs off leash but under voice control.

    Scenic stroll

The park itself is dog friendly, the buildings are not. The view of the lighthouse is great and the walk along the coastline enjoyable.

    Beautiful Location!

This was such a beautiful lighthouse, and the cliff walk was a great walk to take our dog on. Everyone was friendly, and every turn of the walk had a beautiful vantage point.

    Beautiful Walk

We visited last weekend with our Bernese Mountain Dog and really enjoyed the cliff walk out to the lighthouse. It was such a pretty day and the trail is very well groomed. Our dog really loved the walk, and everybody was very friendly towards her. It's definitely worth the trip and short walk to see the gorgeous views!
