Blue Springs State Park

Blue Springs State Park is a pet-friendly park in the Wiregrass Region of Clio, AL. This park may be a secret swimming hole to the locals, but it is well worth the drive from anywhere in the state. Leashed dogs are welcome in most areas of this year-round park. Your pup can join you for a hike, but be mindful that bike and horseback riding trails may not allow dogs for safety reasons. Hated It!

I unfortunately did not see the description here about the state park and was only reading what the official blue springs state park website said. It does not mention at all that dogs cannot go into the water. We drove over an hour to get there. At the front gate we asked the ranger if it was dog friendly and he said yes as long as we kept them on a 6ft leash or smaller. Once we drove down to the swimming area there were signs that said dogs were not allowed. They are only allowed on the boardwalk. Very disappointed.
