Snead Farm Loop

Snead Farm Loop is pet-friendly. This moderate trek is a 3-mile circuit up to a barn and lookout point in Shenandoah National Park. The best time to visit is during fall when the trees change a variety of colors. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trail, as long as they are cleaned up after. Visit Website

Superior hiking at Snead Farm Loop

This was a great hike. The beginning was the old road bed up to the Snead Farm. The puppers enjoyed the natural spring water between the still standing barn and the ruins of the house. The hike continued in a nice loop behind the mountains and back out to Dickey Ridge. There was a beautiful view along Dickey Ridge to the west. Very little rocky walking in all. You can make the loop longer by continuuing along the Ridge. Our phone said 4.31 which was perfect. Huge Bonus is clean restrooms at the Visitors Center open in December!
