Pigeon River Country State Forest
Visit the pet-friendly Pigeon River Country State Forest in Vanderbilt, MI. Leashed dogs are welcome at this 109,000-acre unique rustic area, which Ernest Hemingway called “wild as the devil” and “the greatest I’ve ever been in”. Please note, that to create the remote and backcountry experience, most trails are not developed and there is no signage or infrastructure. Pets must be on a six-foot leash at all times and cleaned up after.
