MCT Watershed Trail

The MCT Watershed Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Edwardsville! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the MCT Watershed Trail. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. For more detailed trail information, please visit TrailLink.com. Safety Issues

I'm worried about safety issues on the Madison County Trails. Just recently I encountered 4 speeding motorcycles while riding on the Watershed Trail near the end of Goshen Trail (this happened on more than one occasion). Since this is not in city limits, I talked to the Madison County Sheriff's Dept. & they said MCT doesn't allow them on the bike trails.
So my concern is - are there any controls in place on the trails to make sure they're safe? If law enforcement isn't allowed on the trails, then I'm not so sure I want to be on them anymore. I know MCT has rules, but it appears no one enforces them.
